A note from the owners

Meet the brothers
behind the red truck.

We're Justin and Mikey. We grew up falling asleep to the glow of Christmas lights outside our window.

Now we run Light Joy, our family business in South Windsor, and the red truck is real. If you see it around town this winter, give us a wave.

Justin & Mikey

P.S. Your lights aren't just for the kids on your street. A portion of every project also supports Toys for Tots in Connecticut, for the kids a little farther away.

I.

See it first, free

II.

We hang every light

We custom-fit lights to your roofline, tracing the gutters, gables, peaks, and ridge, one clean row per edge. Then we wrap the trees and bushes you want lit. We bring every light, clip, and timer, and we're fully insured.

III.

We keep it glowing

Everything runs on a timer, so the house is lit every evening without you thinking about it. We look after your lights all season, so if anything ever needs attention, call us and we'll come back and take care of it at no extra charge.

IV.

We take it all down

After the holidays, we come back for every light and clip and store them until next season. No bins in your garage.

Good QuestionsHoliday Light Installation FAQ

How much does Christmas light installation cost?

Most homes run $800 to $1,800, depending on the size of your house and what you'd like lit, like the full roofline, trees, or bushes. Every quote is free and upfront, with no hidden fees, and what we quote is what you pay.

Can I see what it'll look like before I book?

Yes, and it's our favorite part. When we come by for your free quote, we walk you through a picture of your own house lit up and talk through what you'd like, so you can see it before you spend a dollar.

Do I buy the lights, or do you? Can I use my own?

We do. Professional-grade lights, clips, and timers are all included in your quote, and they stay ours, so there's nothing to buy up front, nothing to store, and nothing to replace when a strand dies. We don't install customer-owned lights, so everything on your house matches and works the way it should. Coming back next year? It costs less, since the setup work is already done.

What can you light up? Can I get colored lights?

Rooflines, trees, and bushes. On a roofline we trace every edge: the gutters, the gables, the peaks, and the ridge, one clean row per edge. Classic warm white is what we keep in stock, and if you'd like a different color, just ask and we can order it for you.

When should I book?

As early as you can. We start installing in October, and dates fill quickly in November and December, so reaching out early gets you the best pick of dates.

Do the lights have to go on as soon as they're up?

No. Installing early gets the work done before the snow and ice, and nothing has to come on until you're ready for it.

What if a bulb goes out?

Call us. Looking after your lights all season is part of the job, so we'll come back and take care of it at no extra charge.

What happens after the holidays?

After New Year's, we come back in January, take everything down, and store the lights until next season. No bins in your garage.

Are you insured? Will this damage my house?

Yes, we're fully insured, and we're trained to hang lights without damaging your home.

What towns do you serve?

We install Christmas lights across Hartford and Tolland County, including South Windsor, Manchester, Glastonbury, East Hartford, West Hartford, Enfield, Vernon, Ellington, Somers, and Tolland, plus the towns around them. If you're nearby and not on the list, just ask.

Do you light businesses and HOA communities?

Yes. We light HOA entrances and common areas, condo and townhome communities, storefronts, restaurants, and offices, with a free site walk, a written proposal, and multi-season agreements. See commercial and HOA lighting.
